Abstract

We suppose that the reliability of an element is given by P(t) = exp(−tT), t ≥ 0, T > 0, where T is the unknown parameter taking its values in the set {T1, T2,…, Tn}. A minimax decision rule for guessing the true value of T is found and a computer program for finding this rule when n = 2 is given.
