2017, Engineering StructuresCitation Excerpt :Most of the research was focused on the aerodynamics of these structures. In general, there are two methods of reducing the response of any fluid-elastic vibrating system [222], that of (a) altering the transfer function of the fluid-elastic system and that of (b) altering the characteristics of the input excitation. The first method is beyond the scope of this review, and the interested reader can refer to Walshe and Wootton [223] and to Modi et al. [224].
