Monte Carlo simulations of phase transitions and lattice dynamics in an atomphonon model for spin transition compounds
2010, Physica B: Condensed MatterCitation Excerpt :Consequently, the sub-systems oscillate out-of-phase, so the interference of their vibrations is distructive and the total amplitude of the vibration is less than that for the “effective” system. This hypothesis of the cluster formation is also present in Ref. [18], where the authors conduct MC simulations also. The effective/equivelent system is an N identical spring for which the elastic constant keff depends linearly on the mean spin value m, like in mean-field approximation.
