Nevertheless, the friction and wear of polymer composites reinforced by either glass or carbon fibers have been investigated in several earlier studies [2,6,7]. It has been demonstrated that the abrasive wear rate of carbon fiber composites depends on the counter body [2] and several studies have also shown the existence of a strong dependence of the fiber orientation of unidirectional continuous fiber reinforced polymer matrices [4,8].
