2021, Journal of International ManagementCitation Excerpt :The literature has been consistent in demonstrating the critical and important outcomes of CQ (e.g., Ott and Michailova, 2018). Now, we review the literature particularly the outcomes of CQ and organize the findings utilizing the interpersonal process effectiveness framework of synergy and direction (Watson et al., 2003; Watson et al., 1995). Intellectual agility and innovation in micro and small businesses: The mediating role of entrepreneurial leadership
2021, Journal of Business ResearchCitation Excerpt :Over the years, scholarly literature on EL has investigated the traits and skills of entrepreneurial leaders (Harrison et al., 2018; Kuratko, 2007; Rotefoss & Kolvereid, 2005) such as psychological, sociological, demographic (Rotefoss & Kolvereid, 2005), or professional (Unger, Rauch, Frese, & Rosenbusch, 2011) characteristics. This literature argues that entrepreneurial leaders need to possess relevant experience and skills (Chen, 2007), especially interpersonal skills (Watson, Ponthieu, & Critelli, 1995), creativity (Amabile, 1997), and opportunity orientation (Ardichvili, Cardozo, & Ray, 2003), which may help them to formulate the desired image in the future, inspiring other employees to follow their vision. Broadly speaking, two main characteristics - future orientation and building community - distinguish EL from other styles of leadership.
Escaping the knowledge corridor: How founder human capital and founder coachability impacts product innovation in new ventures
2020, Journal of Business VenturingCitation Excerpt :On the other hand, Balachandra et al. (2014) viewed coachability as salient to mentor-protégé theory. They argued that because investors consider their time to be their most valuable resource, over financial resources, they want their advice to be valued and translate into action (Gifford, 1997; Watson et al., 1995). Ciuchta et al. (2018) advanced a theoretically motivated definition of the coachability construct and an empirically validated measurement scale.
