2022, Saudi Pharmaceutical JournalCitation Excerpt :In recent years, several methods have been developed that allow a more objective analysis of patients’ degree of awareness by means of electroencephalogram (EEG) analysis. The most commonly used tools are auditory evoked potentials and the Bispectral index™ (BIS™) (Rampil, 1998; Saboya et al., 2009; Weber et al., 2004). This last method estimates the brain electrical activity degree and therefore the patient sedation degree by means of EEG wave frequency analysis. (
