In the case of excitation by blue light, the excited colors can be mixed with the unabsorbed blue light to produce white light [225], as observed for CDs solvothermally prepared using acetone, dimethyl trithiocarbonate, and nitric acid as precursors. Compared to usual water-soluble CDs, oil-soluble CDs are easier to synthesize.

2022, ChemosphereCitation Excerpt :In electroluminescence, CQDs emit luminescence in response to electrons and holes generated from cathode and anode. Previous results suggested that CQDs are equally compatible and efficient in LED fabrication (Cui et al., 2017). Perikala and Bhardwaj prepared CQDs from citric acid by solvothermal route in a colloidal system using octadecane as solvent.
