Low shrinkage light curable dental nanocomposites using SiO2 microspheres as fillers
Graphical abstract
Monodispersive silica microspheres with a diameter of 400 nm were synthesized and used as fillers to develop a dental composite that has low volume shrinkage.
Highlights
► Monodispersed SiO2 microspheres with a diameter of 400 nm were synthesized and used as fillers. ► The resin composites using the SiO2 as fillers have a higher light transmission. ► The composite presented a volume shrinkage as low as 2.27% by tuning the resin composition.
