Experimental isothermal section of the Nb-Ni-Ru ternary system at 1100 °C
2019, Journal of Alloys and CompoundsCitation Excerpt :The off-stoichiometric range of NbNi3 is approximately 4.5%. Fig. 2 shows that there is an obvious contrast near equiatomic compositions Nb50Ru50 in the Nb-Ru diffusion couple, meaning the existence of a NbRu phase, which is consistent with the results of Chen et al. [26], Shapiro et al. [28], Tan et al. [32] and Benarchid et al. [33] who experimentally and theoretically confirmed existence NbRu ordered phase above 900 °C. Alternatively, the concentration profiles of Nb-Ru diffusion couples annealed at 1100 °C shows that the concentration is smooth from 47 to 100 at% Nb (see Fig. 5), meaning that the two phase area between BCC(Nb) and NbRu is very narrow, which is consistent with the assessed phase diagram of Nb-Ru by Massalski, T.B [23].
Distribution trends and influence of 4d transition metal elements (Ru, Rh and Pd) doping on mechanical properties and martensitic transformation temperature of B2-ZrCu phase
2017, Journal of Physics and Chemistry of SolidsCitation Excerpt :Consequently, taking a profound discussion on martensitic transformation is very significant. At present, the commercial applications predominantly adopt the TiNi- and Cu-based SMAs [1,6,7]. However, the low martensitic transformation temperature of these alloys restricts their application in high temperature environments [7,8].
Effects of hydrogen adsorption on the electronic and magnetic structures for variant terminations of NbRu (001) and M/NbRu (001) surfaces (M=Fe, Ni)
2013, Journal of Magnetism and Magnetic MaterialsCitation Excerpt :These properties have led to a proliferation of diverse applications in a variety of industries like in space shuttles, thermostats, vascular stents, and hydraulic fittings (for airplanes) [14,15]. Tan et al. [16] used the plane-wave pseudopotential method within the generalized gradient approximation to study structural, electronic and elastic properties of B2 NbRu alloy. The crystal structure of the β′ phase was obtained for the first time.
First principles investigation on the stability and elastic properties of Ni<inf>2</inf>Cr<inf>1-x</inf>M<inf>x</inf> (M = Nb, Mo, Ta, and W) superlattices
2013, IntermetallicsCitation Excerpt :The ground states of Ni (f.c.c.) and Cr (b.c.c.) phases are found to be ferromagnetic and antiferromagnetic, respectively. Generalized gradient approximation (GGA) of PBE is used in the calculation of elastic constants [28]. A plane-wave cutoff energy of 770 ev is employed for all calculations.
