Abstract
Solid acid ammonium terephthalates were synthesized. Their structure and IR spectrum were shown to remain unchanged at nitrogen contents down to 3.48 wt %, indicating the existence of a compound of variable composition with the general formula (NH4) x H2 – x (OOCC6H4COO) (x = 0.4–1.7).
