Abstract
The results of experimental investigations are considered for mining a thick seam with a hard-to-cave roof by room-and-pillar system; the quantitative values of its parameters and criterion for the step of main roof caving with respect to outcropping area are established. Technological parameters and control of rock pressure manifestation are substantiated.
