Manganese(III) amide complexes as a new class of catalyst for efficient alkene epoxidation

Abstract

Complexation of 1,2-bis(pyridine-2-carboxamido)benzene (H2bpb) and 1,2-bis(pyridine-2-carboxamido)-4,5-dichloro-benzene (H2bpcb) with manganese(III) yielded [MnIII(bpb)Cl], [MnIII(bpb)(N3)], and [MnIII(bpcb)Cl]; the manganese(III) complexes have been found to catalyse the expoxidation of alkenes in the presence of PhlO.
