New types of polycarbonyls of Co+ formed after interaction of CO with Co–ZSM-5: An FTIR spectroscopic study

Abstract

Reduction of Co–ZSM-5 with CO results in the creation of Co+ cations forming Co+(CO)2 species (bands at 2112 and 2042 cm−1) which are converted into Co+(CO)3 tricarbonyls (2137, 2089 and 2079 cm−1) in the presence of CO.
