Synthesis of mesoporous Eu2O3 microspheres and Eu2O3nanoparticle-wires as well as their optical properties

Abstract

In this paper, mesoporous Eu2O3 microspheres and Eu2O3 nanoparticles-wires were synthesized and characterized by XRD SEM, and TEM. By means of adjusting synthetic parameters, two kinds of Eu2O(CO3)2H2O precursors with sphere-like and wire-like morphology were obtained respectively. By calcinating the precursors at 650 °C, the high-quality mesoporous Eu2O3 microspheres and Eu2O3 nanoparticle-wires showed strong optical properties. Both fluorescence spectrum and XRD patterns proved that as-synthesized mesoporous Eu2O3 microspheres and Eu2O3 nanoparticle-wires had cubic phase structures.
