End-functional stereoregular poly(methyl methacrylate) with clickable C[double bond, length as m-dash]C bonds: facile synthesis and thiol–ene reaction

Abstract

Stereoregular poly(methyl methacrylate) with a clickable C[double bond, length as m-dash]C ω-end by a Michael-addition type thiolene reaction was synthesized through an anion terminating reaction with α-(halomethyl)acrylates. The thiol–ene click reaction at the ω-end provided various ω-functional polymers quantitatively.
