Wormlike reverse micelles

Abstract

In this highlight, the studies on wormlike reverse micelles are critically reviewed in light of recent results that demonstrated the impact that micellar branching has on dynamics, rheology and phase behavior. Due to the large number of papers and their historical importance, a large emphasis is given to studies on the reverse micelles formed by addition of water to lecithin in oil solution. It is discussed how subtle changes in the system composition can drastically change the micellar connectivity, phase behavior and rheology.
