Investigation on arrays of perforated dielectric Fresnel lenses
The paper examines the design and performance of an array of Fresnel lenses fabricated from a single perforated dielectric sheet. The array offers a significantly lower profile than a single lens of equivalent aperture area. Factors influencing the array performance, such as the number of elements and element spacing, are investigated. The performance of the lens array compared to a single lens, as well as to a corresponding printed planar array, is evaluated. A 16-element prototype array is fabricated and tested at 30 GHz and its performance is reported.
