  3. Yuanqing Yang was quoted as saying: ‘We are now entering into a new phase, a profitable growth phase, and our board wants to see more aggressive growth in this period… Mr. Amelio has the perfect background to lead us on the path to profitable growth’ (Zhang and Sellami, 2006).

  4. In March 2006, as part of its restructuring plans to reduce costs, Lenovo reduced its workforce by 5%, that is, approximately 1000 jobs (New York Times, 2006).
