Abstract
We propose a scheme for approximately and conditionally teleporting an unknown atomic state in cavity . Our scheme does not involve the Bell-state measurement and thus an additional atom is unnecessary. Only two atoms and one single-mode cavity are required. The scheme may be used to teleport the state of a cavity mode to another mode using a single atom. The idea may also be used to teleport the state of a trapped ion.
