Abstract

We report the modification of the magnetization depth profile of an 18.5-nm-thick Co50Pd50 film immersed in an electrolyte using an electric field. We find an increase in the surface magnetization that varies linearly with magnitude of the applied potential. The change in magnetization occurs within 7.2 nm of the CoPd surface.
