A lattice Boltzmann algorithm based on a volumetric representation is formulated for achieving properties consistent with the standard form at finer resolution. In contrast to pointwise interpolation schemes, this approach can be applied to arbitrary meshes without compromising exact conservation or equilibrium properties.
