Abstract

Present day wireless communication devices are in need of compressed antenna system which covers particular frequency bands in fifth generation communication retaining its multi functionality. Miniaturized Loop Antenna System with Coupled Loop Technique For 5G Applications is presented in this paper. In the design presented, coupled loop method is implemented by fabricating loops on either side of the substrate covering 5G sub 6 GHz band resonating at 5.66 and 3.22 GHz. Microstrip feed line is accomplished as the feeding mode for the proposed antenna system. FR4 substrate having dielectric constant of 4.4 and loss tangent of 0.002 is utilized for the system. The designed prototype is simulated using HFSS software and measured results were in concordance of simulated results. Simulation result showed up –10 dB bandwidth of 240 and 120 MHz at upper and lower band respectively. The VSWR of 1.0805 at 5.66 GHz and 1.1647 at 3.22 GHz along with return loss of –28.24 dB at 5.66 GHz and –22.37 dB at 3.22 GHz showed up good performance characteristics for the designed system. The compact, high gain, multiband antenna system can be easily assembled in wireless devices and mobile handsets which finds applications in wireless mobile services, satellite communication, biomedical diagnosis and energy harvesting applications. Profound effort is made up in the design that is proposed to reduce the proportional size of the antenna as compared with the reference designs while preserving its characteristics.
