Abstract

It is demonstrated that the content of gold in solid samples, including those containing separate gold particles with dimensions of several microns, can be determined by mass spectrometry with a laser ionization source. Using an ion source with gold chloride evaporated at 100–120°C and electron-impact ionization, a minimum detected gold concentration in a sample was 5–10 g/ton.
