ABSTRACT
The SPEC Cloud (TM) IaaS2016 benchmark is the Standard Performance Evaluation Corporation's (SPEC) first benchmark suite to measure cloud performance. The benchmark suite's use is targeted at cloud providers, cloud consumers, hardware vendors, virtualization software vendors, application software vendors, and academic researchers. The benchmark addresses the performance of infrastructure-as-a-service (IaaS) cloud platforms. IaaS cloud platforms can either be public or private. The key metrics of the benchmark are scalability, elasticity, and mean instance provisioning time.

ICPE '19: Companion of the 2019 ACM/SPEC International Conference on Performance EngineeringThe continuing growth of the cloud computing market has led to an unprecedented diversity of cloud services with different performance characteristics. To support service selection, researchers and practitioners conduct cloud performance benchmarking by ...
Optimal autoscaling in a IaaS cloud
ICAC '12: Proceedings of the 9th international conference on Autonomic computingAn application provider leases resources (i.e., virtual machine instances) of variable configurations from a IaaS provider over some lease duration (typically one hour). The application provider (i.e., consumer) would like to minimize their cost while ...
