Zusammenfassung
In diesem Überblicksartikel befassen sich Wolfgang Buchholz und Peter Heindl mit zentralen Themen einer „Ökonomik des Klimawandels“. Sie skizzieren zunächst ein idealtypisches Szenario, innerhalb dessen ökonomische Ansätze zur Bewältigung des Klimaproblems zu erörtern sind. Anschließend betrachten sie verschiedene ökonomische Probleme, die im Zusammenhang mit dem Klimawandel und dessen Bewältigung auftreten. Dazu gehören die Bewertung von Klimaschutzmaßnahmen, die Auswahl geeigneter klimapolitischer Instrumente und die Ermöglichung von Koordination und Kooperation in der Bereitstellung öffentlicher Güter. Abschließend reißen sie noch einige offene Fragen und ungelöste Probleme an.

Wolfgang Buchholz (geb. 1952) ist – nach einer Station in der Aufbauphase der Europa Universität Viadrina in Frankfurt (Oder) – seit 1996 Professor für Volkswirtschaftslehre an der Universität Regensburg. Seit 2002 arbeitet er zudem als Forschungsprofessor am ifo Institut (Leibniz Institut für Wirtschaftsforschung an der Universität München). Sein Hauptforschungsgebiet ist die Umwelt- und Ressourcenökonomik, wozu er zahlreiche Arbeiten in internationalen Fachzeitschriften veröffentlicht hat. Daneben gilt sein Interesse aber auch Themen im Grenzbereich von Wirtschaftswissenschaften und Ethik sowie Fragen der Sozialpolitik. Zusammen mit Friedrich Breyer hat er dazu das Lehrbuch „Ökonomie des Sozialstaats“ verfasst.
Peter Heindl (geb. 1981) ist Senior Researcher im Forschungsbereich Umwelt- und Ressourcenökonomik, Umweltmanagement am Zentrum für Europäische Wirtschaftsforschung (ZEW) in Mannheim. Seine Forschungsinteressen betreffen die optimale Ausgestaltung umweltpolitischer Regulierung, die Verteilungswirkungen der Klimapolitik sowie das Konsumverhalten privater Haushalte.
