Abstract
The contribution discusses the chemical potential of point defects (at or close to equilibrium) for a variety of cases: low and high concentration, electrons and ions, crystalline and amorphous materials, absence and presence of interactions, bulk and planar or curved interfaces, strained and unstrained situations, semi-infinite and finite boundary contributions.
