*Per Sandström has a MSc in wildlife biology and has worked at the Remote Sensing Laboratory at SLU in Umeå since 1997. He has coordinated the GIS and remote sensing portion of the project. He formerly worked as the GIS coordinator for US Fish and Wildlife Service with the recovery of grizzly bears with special focus on using GIS to resolve land use conflicts between different stakeholders. **Tina Granqvist Pahlén has a MSc in forestry and has worked at the Remote Sensing Laboratory at SLU in Umeå since 2000. She developed the custom made GIS for RP in this project. She formerly worked 5 years as the GIS coordinator for the Regional Forestry Board of Gotland and also the County Administrative Board of Gotland. ***Lars Edenius is associate professor in animal ecology, His research interests include plant-animal interactions, landscape ecology and conservation biology. Currently, he is leading projects on effects of large ungulates on recruitment of browsing-prone woody plants in boreal forest and elaborating habitat models for forest-dwelling animals. ****Hans Tømmervik has worked as a vegetation ecologist at The Norwegian Institute for Nature Research, Tromsø, Norway, since 1998. He has been working with remote-sensing based reindeer pasture inventory programs and other monitoring programs of vegetation in Norway since 1983. He has been partly responsible for the fieldwork of this project and for the mountain inventory. He formerly worked as a remote sensing scientist at NORUT Information Technology in Tromsö, Norway, and as a Land Use Consultant for The Sami Reindeer Herders' Association of Norway. *****Olle Hagner has worked at the Remote Sensing Laboratory SLU in Umeå since 1985. His research has mainly involved techniques and tools for satellite remote sensing such as estimation of forest parameters, change detection, segmentation, radiometric calibration, image enhancement and integration of GIS and satellite remote sensing for district level forestry. ******Leif Hemberg has worked at the Regional Board of Forestry in Vilhelmina since 1977. He was the project leader of this project. His is the national support and expert person for questions regarding forestry and reindeer husbandry.
