Abstract
The effects of time, temperature, and the amount of an acetylating reagent in the esterification of peat with acetic anhydride in the presence of sodium hydroxide after mechanochemical activation on the concentration of bound acetyl groups and the solubility of the resulting products in acetone were studied.
