Abstract
The fine structure of ordering soft magnetic FeCo alloy obtained by quenching from the liquid state has been studied by transmission and scanning electron microscopy. The effect of ultrafast quenching and subsequent annealing on the structural aspects of the processes of crystallization, atomic ordering, and polymorphic transformation has been investigated. The reasons for the increase in the alloy plasticity as a result of quenching from the liquid state are established.
