Surface Hardening in Hydraulic Cylinders for Airplane Engines

Abstract

Means of increasing the reliability and durability of hydraulic cylinders for airplane engines are considered. The wear of their working surfaces may be decreased by applying a carbide–oxide coating and subsequent smoothing.
