Highly uniform and monodisperse comet-likeYF3:Eu3+ nanocrystals has been successfully prepared by a sonochemical method under ambient air without any template. The as-prepared YF3:Eu3+ sample was characterized by X-ray diffraction (XRD), scanning electron microscopy (SEM), and photoluminescence (PL) spectra.
