ABSTRACT
This chapter proposes to understand the correlation between ethics and technology as an interaction rather than seeing ethics in response to technology. Firstly, the correlation between ethics and technology will be analyzed conceptually. Secondly, the contributions by technology and the contributions by ethics to technology will be assessed. Thirdly, a discussion of the reciprocal challenges between technology and ethics will follow. Fourthly, the question will be addressed from an ethical perspective how the opportunities can be seized and how the challenges can be met – both by introducing human rights as a possible ethical point of reference for technology.
