Dieter Beste is a science journalist and freelance writer for the technology sections of the online portal springerprofessional.de.

As editor of the weekly newspaper "VDI nachrichten," his responsibilities included editing the newspaper's magazine. He then spent several years as a correspondent for the science magazine "Spektrum der Wissenschaft". With his editorial office, he has been involved since 1995 in the publication of publications in the subject spectrum of technology and science; among other things, he is involved in book publications with Springer Nature.

Born in East Westphalia, he studied mechanical engineering and materials technology at the Osnabrück University of Applied Sciences, followed by economics and social sciences at the University of Osnabrück.
