Eisenmann wins order for Tu-Quan Biogas Plant

Eisenmann Environmental Technology signed a contract with Hangzhou Energy & Environmental Engineering (HEEE) to provide dry anaerobic digestion (AD) equipment, engineering and related installation and support services to HEEE for a biogas plant to be located in Ulanhot, China.

“This is the first biogas project in China for ET’s Organics Diversion business since the signing of their Global Alliance Agreement with HEEE last August and will mean a critical reference for Eisenmann ET in China, the largest biogas market in the world” states Chris Maloney, Global Head of ET’s Organics Diversion Group. “The Tu-Quan project already has high visibility in China as the government continues to aggressively promote an agricultural waste-to-energy strategy to help many Provinces, especially in Northern China, address critical air pollution issues caused by the seasonal burning of straw after harvest.”

“The Tu-Quan biogas project is unique, and a first in China” says Yifeng Shou, HEEE’s CEO, “as it will combine both dry and wet AD to treat 280 tpd/straw and 400 tpd/dairy manure in a single facility, converting the feedstock into valuable renewable natural gas (RNG) and organic fertilizers. With a reference list of over 200 plants and over 30 different waste feedstocks, we were looking for a strong dry AD technology partner to complement our own platform and target the higher solids straw feedstock, and we found it in Eisenmann.” This is also the first joint Eisenmann/HEEE biogas project in collaboration with China General Nuclear (CGN), one of the largest State-Owned Enterprises in the China biogas market. CGN has also publicly announced their strategy to build a number of straw and manure-based biogas projects across China over the next decade. The Tu-Quan project is scheduled for commissioning next summer. At full operation, the plant is expected to produce 80,000 cubic meters of biogas daily and approximately 75,000 tons per year of organic fertilizer for local farmers.
