Multi-Criteria Selection of Quantitative Composition of Alloying Elements of Maraging Steels of the Fe–Cr–Ni–Mo System with an Improved Set of Mechanical Properties

Abstract

Based on analysis of mechanical test the results a search is completed for the optimum content of the main alloying elements of maraging steels (MS) based on Fe–Cr–Ni–Mo that provides a combination of increased strength properties, impact strength, and static crack resistance. A multiple regression model that determines the dependence of the mechanical properties of steel on the alloying elements contained within them is proposed. It is shown that the optimization task is multi-factorial with conflicting criteria and can be effectively resolved using an “ideal point” method.
