We recently checked in with Georg Kopetz, CEO of the software product company TTTech Auto AG, to see how the company is doing and to learn more about where automated driving and software development go from here. TTTech Auto was spun off from TTTech Computertechnik AG in June 2018 following its successful partnership with Audi in the development of zFAS, the world's first L3 platform to reach production. The software it developed for zFAS became the foundation for the safety software platform MotionWise, the company's principal product. MotionWise, a software platform for automated driving, is embedded in more than two million vehicles and complies with ISO 26262. It provides orchestration and integration of applications along with scheduling logic and tools. Using the platform, developers can ensure that essential safety and mission-critical requirements are met. "Our product strategy has changed in recent years," said Kopetz. "Originally, MotionWise architecture was monolithic. We are now moving to a much more modular architecture […] to give us the ability to combine third-party software with our safety platform." TTTech Auto sees itself as a tier 1.5 supplier, serving the carmaker directly while partnering with a tier one.
