Earlier this year, Volkswagen Group's in-house software provider, Cariad, joined the Eclipse Foundation's Software Defined Vehicle (SDV) working group as a strategic member. The SDV group aims to build a technology platform using open-source modular software components and frameworks. Cariad will actively collaborate on open-source software and contribute projects and code for further development within the community.
