Person Re-identification Based on Body Segmentation

Abstract

Person re-identification is a difficult problem to solve in the process of video analysis of non-overlapping multi-camera surveillance system. A new algorithm of person re-identification is proposed in the base of the human segmentation parts in this article. First, the human body segmentation is achieved based on the depth of bone points. Second, the optimal key frame is selected by using the scoring strategy for all parts of the same human multi-frame images segmentation. Different weights for the global color feature and the HOG feature is assigned. Third, all the characteristics are combined to establish a human target model, and EMD (Earth Movers Distance) distance is used to determine the similarity between the targets. The Kinect REID and BIWI RGBD-ID databases are used in the experiments. The results show that the proposed method has stronger robustness and a higher recognition rate.
