Predicting the patterns of plant species distribution under changing climate in major biogeographic zones of mainland India

Abstract

Die Studie konzentriert sich auf die Vorhersage der Verbreitungsmuster von Pflanzenarten unter sich ändernden klimatischen Bedingungen in wichtigen biogeografischen Zonen des indischen Festlandes. Sie betont die entscheidende Rolle von Klima, Topographie und menschlichen Aktivitäten bei der Bestimmung des Artenreichtums. Die Autoren verwenden Artenverteilungsmodelle und makroökologische Modelle, um den aktuellen Artenreichtum zu analysieren und zukünftige Veränderungen vorherzusagen. Die Forschung unterstreicht die Bedeutung von Wasser- und Energievariablen sowie topografischen und anthropogenen Faktoren bei der Gestaltung der Artenverteilung. Die Studie unterstreicht auch die Notwendigkeit von Schutzbemühungen in "kalten Flecken" - Gebieten mit relativ geringerer Biodiversität, aber hoher Anfälligkeit für den Klimawandel. Der Einsatz von Methoden zur Modellierung von Ensembles verbessert die Robustheit von Vorhersagen und liefert wertvolle Erkenntnisse für den Erhalt der Artenvielfalt und die Wiederherstellung von Ökosystemen.
