Cleaning Blanks More Efficiently
Before entering the press line, all particulate contaminants must be removed from the blanks. The particles would otherwise cause flaws during the forming of structural or outer skin parts. Sword brush cleaning systems are increasingly replacing washing machines for cleaning blanks. One reason for this is that the share of aluminium blanks is constantly rising. Aluminium blanks are normally covered with dry lubricants and can therefore not be satisfactorily cleaned by washing machines. In addition, the running costs for the maintenance and operation of sword brushes are much lower than for washing machines.
The core of the sword brush cleaning systems at Wandres GmbH micro-cleaning is the linear brushes that wipe transversely across the transport direction of the blanks. According to Wandres, these brushes reliably and efficiently remove particulate contaminants from surfaces that are subject to high quality standards. The process is stable and reproducible. Due to the self-cleaning function of the brushes, aluminium and steel blanks can be processed alternately. The low installation depth means that the cleaning systems can be integrated simply into production lines and can easily take the place of washing machines.
