Instant adhesives can be used to bond almost any kind of material reliably and within seconds in many industrial manufacturing applications. In addition, they often allow repairs to be carried out cost-effectively. However, since conventional cyanoacrylate-based products generally have low viscosity and no gap-filling properties, they can only be used to bond close-fitting parts. Until now, this drawback has severely restricted the range of applications for these popular adhesives. Loctite 3090 from Henkel is a new two-component instant adhesive that not only offers the same high bond strength and fast cure, but can also fill gaps up to 5 mm wide, which opens up a wide variety of new applications for this type of product. The adhesive is suitable for almost all materials, including metals, most plastics, rubber and ceramics.
