Abstract

Queuing systems with waiting space, i.e., systems that have an input buffer so that a customer arriving when all servers are busy is placed in the buffer and served later when one of the servers becomes free, are adequate mathematical models of many real systems including wired and wireless telecommunication systems. This chapter presents the results of analyzing various systems under the assumption that the input flow is a BMAP.
