The Red Bull Formula One racing team around designer Adrian Newey and Aston Martin have co-developed a hybrid super sports car. The Aston Martin Valkyrie incorporates considerable know-how from Formula 1 racing.

The Aston Martin Valkyrie is powered by a 6.5-litre V12 naturally aspirated engine from Cosworth. Together with an Engine Recovery system (ERS) system, the sports car will deliver 735 kW (1,000 hp) of power according to the car maker. The power-to-weight ratio of the carbon hypercar is to be 1:1.

The Croatian electric car specialist Rimac was recruited to provide the batteries. The seven-speed transmission stems from Ricardo. Alcon and Surface Transforms are providing the carbon brakes for the AM-RB 001.

The Aston Martin Valkyrie limited to 150 cars

The Aston Martin Valkyrie is to be built in the factory where the One-77 was also built. The first models of the Valkyrie, limited to 150 cars, are scheduled to roll out to customers in 2019. 25 track-only versions are also expected.
