Yihdego et al. (2015) claim that many lakes in Western Victoria, in particular Lake Purrumbete, have been dry, or at their lowest level in recorded history, because of global warming. However, measured rainfall around Lake Purrumbete has been fairly stable and actually increasing, while the temperatures have been similarly stable since the end of the 1800s. …
