With rapid advances in technology, it appears that computing and communication devices based on quantum principles may become available in the not too distant future. A central question addressed by the emerging research field
quantum computational complexity
is: how much can quantum devices speed up computation and communication over classical devices? In this talk we discuss recent developments in quantum computational complexity regarding communication complexity, query complexity and interactive proofs. We also examine directions for future research.
