We integrate the insights of pluriactivity, informal economy and resourcefulness to suggest how pluriactive entrepreneurs transit to portfolio entrepreneurship in emerging economies. We identified four key elements, family system, social networks, resilience and prior learning as elements augmenting the process of transition from being pluriactive to portfolio entrepreneur. We theorize drawing on resourcefulness as our theoretical lens and the case illustrations to help understand this process. Our contributions are intended for pluriactivity process, portfolio entrepreneurship, informal economy and resourcefulness.
