In classification and construction, solutions are selected or assembled, respectively. Simulation, however, serves “only” for predicting the effects of certain assumptions on the system. A prerequisite is a model of the system containing parameters and relationships between them. The simulation consists in deriving the values of certain (output) parameters from given values of other (input) parameters.
