Sheet-pile bulkheads are frequently used in marine engineering. These structures have proven to be a viable and economical solution to waterfront construction, where the wall height does not exceed 18–20 m and the foundation soil permits pile-driving. These walls are usually treated as flexible and are normally distinguished by the material of sheet piles (e.g., wood, steel, or concrete), method of sheet-pile support, and sequence of wall construction.
