Infrared spectroradiometric measurements of objects in the field, and of atmospheric properties such as spectral transmittance and sky radiance, require complicated and timeconsuming data logging, calibration, and processing work. This is due to several reasons: 1.every measurement requires a large number of data logging and recording (spectral signal as function of wavelength, internal blackbody temperature, measurement conditions and instrument set-up parameters);2.a mathematical algorithm is needed to calculate the desired spectral quantity such as emissivity, absolute radiance, radiant intensity contrast, irradiance, and atmosperically corrected spectra. This algorithm is different in every case.
