In the present context the term ‘statistical structure’ denotes a triplet (X, A, P) where (i)X = {x} is the sample space — the set of all the ‘possible outcomes’ of the statistical (sampling) experiment,(ii)A={A} is a Borel field of subsets of X — the class of ‘events’ that are recognized as ‘measurable’, and(iii)P= {Pθ} is a family of probability measures (on A) indexed by the ‘parameter’ θ.
